Selling clothes online. How the business works and where to start. What is profitable to sell on the Internet: options for goods and services, how to test a niche and check demand for free, online services for a full business launch What you need to sell

The mature idea of a business selling clothes via the Internet is haunting, but do you want to know more about this activity? Then you should concentrate and carefully study the available information.

To organize the process of selling clothes via the Internet, it is necessary to understand that it is very difficult to attract a potential buyer to virtual purchases. For the sale of clothing, specially designed showcase sites are most often used, on which the goods are presented.

There are alternative methods of disseminating information about the sale of clothing on the Internet:
Registration on specialized forums and sites
Selling clothes through social networks
Use of any other sites where advertising is possible and trading is allowed

If you decide to implement a business idea based on the sale of clothes via the Internet and plan to engage in this activity seriously, it is important to understand that you will not be able to work for a long time without official legal registration. In addition, any business is required by law to be registered.

For this kind of business activity, Russian legislation provides for the registration of the seller in the following organizational and legal forms to choose from: IP or LLC.

Of course, you will need to open a bank account, keep accounting records, register with the tax authorities and submit all necessary reports to them, as well as register a trademark if necessary. More detailed information about the choice of one form or another, about the registration process itself and all the necessary details can be found by contacting legal advice or by studying official information from other sources.

How to start and how to start selling clothes online

You have already made a decision about the choice of activity. It remains to competently organize the process of selling clothes. To begin with, it is important to determine which market segment you are counting on:
Gender and age group of potential customers
The level of income of buyers (what pricing policy will you follow)
Product group: sportswear or evening wear, and perhaps the entire range and wardrobe for every taste

There may be other open questions in this area that may be worth focusing on more carefully. For example, it is important to understand where your product will come from. Perhaps the clothes presented in the store will be sewn at a frequent enterprise. There are also various options for wholesale purchases abroad.

A very important aspect in organizing the sale of clothing via the Internet is the method of payment for the purchase, as well as the delivery of goods. Here it is worth deciding in advance and, if necessary, taking all measures for the proper organization of these processes:
Opening a bank account
Opening of electronic wallets
Studying information about postal orders
Purchasing a vehicle for delivery
Search for couriers

The main thing is to organize a serious approach to work. Believe me, you are planning to do a really profitable business. Trade in clothes at all times brought a decent income.

Did you know the most expensive clothing brand in the world?
Louis Vuitton is the most valuable luxury brand in the world. According to official data, its value is almost 26 billion dollars and is growing annually by almost 10%.

What documents are needed to trade clothes? Does it need to be formalized at all?

Registration of any business always entails a number of difficulties and formalities. To protect yourself and your clients legally, you need to competently approach the design of all documentation. It is not even worth talking about an illegal organization of trade, since it is impossible to avoid administrative responsibility for illegal business activities.

When selling clothes of a domestic manufacturer, there is no need to draw up any documents for the goods. If you still decide to turn to foreign manufacturers and suppliers, then you need to draw up a number of documents and clear the goods through customs. Also, the need for registration of certain documents is affected by your legal form and taxation system. These are quite specific legal questions that should be answered professionally within the framework of qualified legal assistance.

As for the choice of taxation system, this issue also directly depends on whether you registered your organization as a legal entity. As a rule, retail sales of clothing in Russia are subject to a single tax. But there are options for using the simplified tax system or paying income tax to the budget.

How to find clothing suppliers for an online store

At the initial stage of the search for suppliers, it is important to understand what investments you are ready to make. Most likely, it is immediately easier to turn to the most common firms that are engaged in tailoring, for example, in China. A huge misconception that the quality here can fail. As a rule, factory items are sewn using decent materials and according to original patterns.

The most common way to find a supplier of clothing for trade via the Internet is considered to be a search on the net. Everything is very simple here. It is enough to formulate your request in any of the search engines, and the result will not keep you waiting.

There is also a way to communicate directly with the supplier, which is fraught with a number of threats. It is good if the wholesale supplier has previously successfully established itself. In any case, it is important to obtain the most reliable information about the product and insure yourself against material losses legally.

Sale of clothes via the Internet in social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki

To date, the popularity of social networks is just at its peak. There is an almost 100% guarantee that every person registered in any of the networks accesses the cherished site at least once a day.

From this we can conclude that the placement of a shop window for a clothing store on a social network is very appropriate. It is important to monitor the promotion and advertising of the created pages or communities in a timely manner in order to increase the number of visits. The social network is an almost bottomless source of potential customers and a fairly cheap way to advertise.

How to open an independent online clothing store

But for a serious and competent implementation of trading activities, there is a sharp need to create an independent online store. What it gives the seller:
Additional prestige
Website as the main source of information
An online store always inspires more trust than a page on a social network
Organization in the trading process
The possibility of real promotion of your product by promoting and optimizing the site

When opening an online store, it is important to contact a professional website developer and not save on its creation. Next, you should pay attention to the timely maintenance of your store and its optimization. When choosing a name, reference should be made to existing databases for this information to avoid unnecessary confusion and repetition.

What is the name of the online women's clothing store?

When naming an online store, you need to consider many criteria:
Range
Potential customer interest
Originality
Relevance
euphony
Ease of perception, etc.

How to sell clothes the right way? How to increase sales in a women's clothing store?

Turning to the showcase of an online clothing store, a potential client faces a number of difficulties:

Difficulty in determining the correct size
Inability to evaluate the quality of the goods
The buyer is deprived of the possibility of personal consultation with the seller
There is no opportunity to hear an opinion from the outside, in connection with the purchase of clothes without trying on

In order to somehow smooth out these controversial issues, you should study all the latest marketing solutions in the field of online commerce. Often an online clothing store looks like a simple product catalog with formal photos of the models on offer.

To date, there are more creative solutions for demonstrating clothes on the site:

Use of videos that show the collection of clothes on models
Ability to view all color variations of the presented clothes
A virtual opportunity to "try on" clothes on the model. At the same time, you can compose entire sets and select individual elements to each other in style, shape, texture and color.
The design of the website of the online store should correspond to the interests of the target market segment.
When developing a site, it is necessary to take into account the ability to quickly move from section to section, highlight the most attractive elements of clothing, enlarge and view the model you like on full screen
Organization of an online consultation with a specialist

These and many other methods will increase sales, as they directly simplify the process of choosing a product.

Do not forget about a competent marketing policy and holding special promotions and sales. These classic techniques, as well as discount and bonus systems, gifts on holidays and the design of gift certificates in someone else's name, will increase the level of income from this kind of business on the Internet.

Remember that the organization of any business requires, first of all, financial investments, diligence, patience and a share of healthy risk. When opening an online clothing store, it is important to study this market of goods and the needs of potential buyers, as well as the specific aspects of online trading.

Implementation of a business remotely allows you to turn your entrepreneurial ideas into reality online. The creation of online stores, the competent design of pages and profiles in social networks are essential and indispensable tools for a businessman who decides to promote his business via the Internet. This solution saves time and money for potential customers who are given the opportunity to shop without leaving their homes.

Online cooperation is usually distinguished by favorable conditions expressed in pricing policy and prompt delivery of purchases. Such advantages usually attract customers and encourage them to switch from real stores to virtual ones. Since such a business quickly pays off and is profitable, many beginners and existing entrepreneurs have a question about how to start selling clothes over the Internet, where to look for suppliers?

Types of business

To run a business, it is not necessary to make wholesale purchases, it is possible to work on a dropshipping system or be an organizer of joint purchases.

Sales through worldwide networks can be organized in several ways, based on the use of the possibilities of the following sites:

  • social networks;
  • specialized portals;
  • online stores.

Posting offers on resources is not enough. To ensure prompt sales, it is necessary to launch advertising, hold promotions, contests and constantly analyze the effectiveness of advertising tools.

Selling clothes online, where to start, how to find a supplier

Online trading business is available to any citizen who has free time, access to computer technology, the Internet and the desire to earn money.

Any activity aimed at making a profit must be formalized. For start-up businessmen, whose sales volumes are not large, it is enough to open an individual business.

Before registration, you should determine the scope of activities and draw up a business plan. When planning clothing trade, it is necessary to single out a specific product group, which can be classified as women's, men's or children's clothing. An important criterion for choosing a product is its value category. It is recommended to choose a specific niche, study it thoroughly and attract regular customers.

Today, clothes can be ordered not only in Russia and the CIS countries, but also abroad. Favorable suppliers are Chinese manufacturers. On their sites, you can order inexpensive, but high-quality and exclusive products, which cannot be found in any Russian retail store.

The advantage of cooperation with Chinese suppliers is the ability to choose a reliable partner, whose rating indicates the quality of the products offered and his integrity as a seller. Marketplaces also protect the rights of both parties through the use of a specific payment system that ensures that funds are credited to the seller's account only after confirmation of the receipt of the products by the buyer.

Do you need start-up capital

When planning activities in the field of trade, the main problems of start-up entrepreneurs are financial issues. According to statistics, it will take about 350,000 rubles to open and promote your own online clothing company. The main items of expenditure are formed by:

  • payment of the state duty paid upon registration of a business entity;
  • creation and design of a web resource;
  • lease of premises for storage of goods;
  • conducting an advertising campaign;
  • purchase of goods;
  • wages of employees (if any).

How to minimize costs

To minimize costs, the search for customers can be organized in social networks by placing advertising posts. At the same time, it is not necessary to buy or rent warehouse or office space.

By acting as intermediaries, you can earn decent money without even seeing the goods being sold.

Buyers will order products placed on the intermediary's showcase, but located in the seller's warehouses. After filling out the buyer's application to the intermediary and receiving an advance payment, he transfers the funds received as an advance payment to the seller, who sends the goods to the buyer's address indicated by the intermediary. The income of the intermediary consists of the difference between the price he offered in his virtual store and the real cost of the product from the seller. Markups are usually carried out by increasing the basic cost by a certain percentage.

The sale of branded clothing via the Internet is beneficial through the dropshipping system, since its purchase for resale is economically unprofitable and risky, because this category of items is of high value. An excellent solution in this situation would be to promote someone else's product on your web resources.

Range selection

When choosing an assortment, you need to take into account the demand and relevance of things in the regions to which delivery is expected. You should study the offers of competitors and occupy a potentially demanded, but not fully covered by them, niche. It is recommended to analyze retail web resources and get acquainted with the opinions of their customers in specialized forums. You should also find out statistical information about the average income of the population.

Overpriced can make the purchase on the actual, and too low a price will certainly raise doubts about the quality of the product. To obtain successful trading results, it is recommended to focus the attention of buyers on those products for the sale of which competition will be minimal.

How to start a clothing business?

The business of selling clothes has long proven its profitability. Things have always been bought, and will be bought, no matter what kind of business it is: a business selling women's clothing, men's or children's. Many aspiring entrepreneurs often face the question: “Which business format is better?”, “Where is it more profitable to start?”. The questions are really difficult, because you can open a wholesale organization and become a supplier, you can open a standard retail store, or you can start with a simple online store. The choice is sufficient, so you need to analyze this question “from and to”, so that later it does not turn out that the choice made is a big mistake.

Clothing business formats

There are three business options for selling children's clothing, men's and women's.

  1. Wholesale trade.
  2. Retail sale through a regular store.
  3. Sale through an online store.

Wholesale clothing- this is a kind of store, the purpose of which is still the same: the sale of goods. Only the target audience is not buyers, but retail stores. That is, the process is as follows: a wholesale store buys goods in large quantities, becomes a supplier and begins to look for options for selling products. These options are retail stores. Thus, a small chain is obtained: manufacturers, from which the wholesale company is purchased, - the wholesale company, from which retail stores are purchased, - retail stores that sell their goods to customers.

Retail- This is a regular store, in this case, specializing in clothing. The target audience is consumers. The main characteristics that are inherent in all retail stores are:

  1. sales floor area,
  2. level of customer service,
  3. number of commodity items,
  4. product placement technology.

These characteristics are both distinctive and, thanks to them, the stores have their own identity.

Selling through an online store- a popular method today. It involves organizing and doing business online. Customers can shop without leaving home. To do this, they just need to choose the right thing and pay for the goods either with a card or using a payment system. The main condition for organizing an online store is to make the process of making a purchase as comfortable as possible for customers so that they want to return to shopping.

The process of opening a wholesale company

Opening a wholesale company, regardless of the type of clothing and the target buyer (mono-brand or multi-brand store, stock, second-hand, boutique), has common components:

  1. a detailed business plan for a wholesale warehouse;
  2. building;
  3. storage equipment;
  4. suppliers;
  5. employees (usually from 5 to 10 people);
  6. set of permits.

First of all, you need to get acquainted with competitors, collect maximum information on sales in this region, and identify its dynamics. It will not be superfluous to talk with dealers. Before opening a wholesale store, it is necessary to draw up the most detailed business plan that will reflect all financial information.

Finding a location is not the most important step. When opening a wholesale company, an advantageous or good location is not required at all, since retail stores will either come to pick up the goods themselves, or even provide all the work to the wholesale company. Therefore, the optimal location will be the most important. The building can be found ready-made or built for specific purposes (depending on the availability of available funds). Before renting or buying a ready-made premises, you must make sure that it is suitable for a warehouse.

After the building is rented or purchased (built), you need to start arranging the premises: it is worth dividing it into sections (loading, unloading, receiving, picking, storing goods). Equipment will also be needed, depending on the range, weight and dimensions.

The supplier selection stage is different for each store type. If the target audience is stock stores, then you need to buy clothes either from manufacturers or from stores that have leftovers. Secondhand stores are the most economical option (purchasing clothes is cheap, unlike others). Suppliers are companies that collect things. Multi- and mono-brand items, as well as expensive and elite items for a boutique, are purchased directly from manufacturers.

The wholesale store will need employees.

  1. Boss.
  2. Additional workers, in the amount of 5-10 people.

To make it easier for retail stores, you need to make access roads convenient and free. A good option is a building on the outskirts of the city, where you can easily and without traffic jams.

Store opening process

Opening a store begins with drawing up a business plan for selling clothes. After that, registration (LLC or IP) begins. Next, the most important step is finding a location. It should be in a passable place where there is a large flow of people every day. It can be a shopping center or a freestanding store in the city center on a busy street. It all depends on the type of clothing sold and its target audience.

The size of the premises also varies depending on the type of clothing sold. For example, a second-hand store does not require a large room. After the premises are rented, the search for suppliers, the purchase of equipment and the hiring of personnel begins.

Suppliers by and large will be wholesale companies. You can search for them either through friends or through ads on the Internet. Equipment also depends on the store. If this is a boutique, then everything should be expensive, and if it is second-hand, then a lot of equipment will not be needed and, in principle, they will not pay attention to it.

Hiring staff is another crucial moment, since the profitability of the business (its profitability) depends on the employees. And the last step is advertising. You can read more about opening a retail store (its stages, main advantages and disadvantages for each type of clothing) in previous articles.

Opening an online store

The business of selling clothes online is as follows. The first is the search for suppliers. It is very important for an online store to have a quality product. You can create your own warehouse where the clothes will be stored, or you can agree with the supplier that the clothes will be picked up from his warehouse for each order. The second option is cheaper regardless of the clothes, their quality and brand.

To open an online store, you need a website. For the site - hosting and domain, for which you can find low prices. Hosting is paid every month. You will also need to register a legal entity (LLC or individual entrepreneur) in order not to have problems with the tax office.

It is important to provide for payment and delivery methods, there must be a choice so that the buyer finds something suitable for himself.

When suppliers are found, the site is created, you need to attract buyers. To do this, you need to start active promotion: contextual advertising ordered in Google or Yandex. It will attract to the store those who see this advertisement and follow the link. There is another option - advertising in boxes. You can create your own affiliate program so that buyers bring their friends and acquaintances and receive a percentage of their purchases.

Promotion is a means to form a base of regular customers. It is aimed at sales (20% of regular customers = 80% of sales). In order to keep customers, you need to hold constant promotions and discounts, give coupons and send out messages with great deals.

Online shopping has its pros and cons. Of the advantages, it is worth highlighting simplicity and minimal costs, and of the minuses, it is unlikely that it will be possible to achieve high incomes (of the three options, this one has the minimum profitability), unlike retail or wholesale stores. There are also limitations on target audiences.

Any business selling clothes can make a profit. All this will happen only for different periods of time. Retail store has the fastest payback period.

And the easiest method of organization is an online store. A wholesale company, on a par with an online store, is not characterized by such high costs. But retail profits are also higher. Each business option has its pros and cons. Therefore, each entrepreneur must independently make a choice based on their experience, capabilities (including financial ones) and desires.

If you like to declutter, then you have probably already cleaned your closet (and maybe more than once) from unnecessary things. Me too. And the unnecessary clothes that I found at home were not just a lot, but a lot. Why?

Personal experience: where to sell unwanted clothes?

When I just realized that unwanted clothes can be sold, I was faced with a choice: where to do it? I outlined 3 options - to give paper ads, hand it over to a thrift store or sell used items via the Internet.

The first option is paper ads.- brushed aside immediately because of its time consumption.

The second option is to take it to a commission. I tried once and gave up. The story turned out to be comical, to be honest: I wanted to sell shoes that I wore only 1 or 2 times. I came, I gave. For three months no one bought my shoes, they called me and offered to come pick them up (they have such conditions). On the spot, it turned out that in order to pick up my shoes, you also need to pay for "their storage in the store" (so I was told). This is how we got "mutually beneficial" cooperation) We had to pay a penny, but ... the story "How I sold shoes" turned out to be ridiculous, don't you think?))

And finally, the third option is to sell unwanted clothes on the Internet. I stopped on it. The optimal solution is minimum time and maximum audience. Almost no hassle. By the way, mine just came out.

In the case of excess in the wardrobe, the option with the social worked for me. networks: unwanted clothes were sold very quickly through ads in groups such as "Flea market", "Sell" and "Sell cheap". I also place ads in Belarus on kufar.by or ay.by. In Russia, there is meshok.ru, avito.ru, eBay.com, Irr.ru.

If you decide to sell unwanted clothes and shoes…

If you start selling excess clothes, you will very often receive questions like: “Can I come and try it on?”. Be prepared that you will have to let a stranger into the house. You can offer the option to come home to him if it's convenient for you. Or a compromise - to meet near a hypermarket or a place where there is a fitting room or a toilet - so that the buyer tries on the thing there.

How to sell unwanted clothes and shoes: the nuances

  1. Be sure to add a real photo of your item! Not taken from the Internet, but my own! If it is clothes, it is best to take a picture of yourself in this thing - from different angles. In the description, indicate your parameters, weight and height - so that a person understands how and on what figure this piece of clothing looks.
  2. How long have you been wearing this item? (either it's brand new, or you've just tried it on). Write in such a way as not to mislead the buyer: if you have a coat for two years, and you have worn it for a total of 1 month, indicate this in the ad. If you remember exactly that you wore the thing 1-2-3 times, also indicate - this is a plus!
  3. Show defects in the photo: small hole, stain, broken zipper. Be honest with buyers!
  4. Specify item parameters: sleeve length, back length, waist width, insole length - for shoes. The more precise parameters in the ad, the better.
  5. Consider seasonality! Do not waste your energy and do not publish an ad for the sale of summer dresses in winter or knitted hats in summer. Post an ad in season - then the clothes will be much more likely to sell quickly.
  6. Specify the price. A lot of people post ads labeled "price negotiable", but I'm not a fan of this approach: the buyer will have to do too many steps (write you a message or call) to agree on a price. And why do this if there is another ad where the price is indicated and you don’t need to make extra gestures? And yes - an interested buyer will write to you, even if the price is high - they will ask for a discount.
  7. If there are price tags left, don't cut them off. And if there is a price, and you sell much cheaper, it’s generally good: the buyer immediately sees his benefit!
  8. Wipe the dust, glue, clean the pellets, remove the stain- such trifles not only speed up the sale of unnecessary clothes, but also make its value higher. Don't neglect it. Or honestly point out that the thing is not so hot, that's why it's so cheap.
  9. If you meet on the street, take care of the package for the buyer: so he doesn't have to walk around with your skirt in his hands all day.

What unwanted clothes can be sold?

  • Holiday dresses, even if you have worn them several times, as well as men's suits
  • Any new items with a reduced cost: not only clothes, but also shoes,
  • Used children's clothes
  • Seasonal items - in season
  • Used clothing in excellent or good condition - be sure to indicate how long you have used it

What unwanted clothes are definitely not worth selling?

  • Linen. You can try to sell second-hand linen only in one case: if these are little things for newborns, and they are carefully washed. The second option for selling unwanted underwear is if it is brand new.
  • dirty things
  • Heavily worn items. You should not give frank rags to charity (think, can this thing be worn?). Very old things (but clean!) Can be attached to a shelter for homeless animals.

Have you sold used items or new clothes from your own closet?

Many people think about how to start their own business without starting capital - it is scary to take a loan, and their own funds are not enough even to open a small store.

The way out in this situation can be the sale of clothes at home. This type of business can be started by buying one bag of stock or stocking just one batch of clothes for the minimum amount in the showroom. In practice, some people like this type of business so much that they later prefer it to a traditional retail store.

It is also not uncommon for store owners, tired of the worries associated with supporting this type of trade, to start selling clothes at home. According to one of these entrepreneurs, Rosa, - while she was buying goods remotely and there were a lot of defects in the bags, the trade in the store was not going very well. Tired of such "pig in a poke", Rosa closed the store and began selling houses:

"I arrive on the day of delivery, I take bags of 3 immediately and in 2-3 days I sell almost to zero, I distribute the rest without sparing to everyone. The profit is obvious and there are no headaches!" Rosa says.

And who will go there?

As with traditional trading, there are two possibilities to attract buyers: very low prices, or to offer something that no one has offered them so far. The first path is a dead end: people will constantly want lower and lower prices, and in the end they may go to someone who can offer them this. The second way is more promising: you will not only be more competitive, but you will also be able to sell goods with a higher profit.

What is meant by the phrase "Offer something that is not available anywhere else"? No, we are not talking about some kind of exclusive clothing, although this is partly true. What you can oppose to competitors is your experience in consulting in choosing clothes; that is, you can become an image stylist for clients. When people see that their acquaintances admire the clothes they bought from you, they will become your regular customers and begin to recommend you to all their friends. So if you feel like you are ready to open your own "boutique at home" - this path is just right for you.

It is not worth reminding you that you will have to constantly improve your professional skills - be aware of fashion trends and at least know a little about fashion history; monitor the media dedicated to clothing and fashion. Moreover, to improve the quality of work with clients, you will also have to become a bit of a psychologist, like a personal hairdresser. But trust me, it will pay off handsomely.

Remember that the best evaluation of your work is when acquaintances of your clients ask for your phone.

What to sell?

When selling clothes at home, you can make the same mistakes as when selling stock in a retail store. But working from home on your own, you have a serious advantage: you can quickly find out the needs of each of your clients. At the first purchase of goods, we recommend that you adhere to the following rules:

  1. Make a list of your prospective clients.
  2. Find out which of them are interested in what clothes, what style they prefer, etc.
  3. if possible, try to find out if they are planning to buy any wardrobe items right now - maybe someone wants to buy jeans, and someone needs a coat. Keep their needs in mind whenever you purchase a product.
  4. While the turnover of trade is small, it is better to buy clothes in showrooms and look at almost every item with your hands - otherwise there will be a lot of leftovers. In addition, many wholesalers have the opportunity to return unsold goods, which is very convenient when trading at home. Later, with an increase in turnover, it becomes more profitable to purchase bags, although it makes sense to look at bags at the initial stage, remembering your list of necessary goods. In some cases, with the successful sale of 4-5 items, you can immediately recoup the entire purchased batch.
  5. It is necessary, as in store trading, to keep track of new arrivals in showrooms and quickly get there - this is one of the key points for a successful purchase.
  6. Prices, especially at the beginning of the activity, it is better not to overestimate - because now you can buy almost any thing very cheaply, if it is not some kind of super-exclusive. Over time, when people realize that you are not just selling clothes, but also giving professional advice on shaping their own image, they will be ready to pay much more for things.
  7. Don't throw away your clothing packaging! When selling a thing, put it in the "native" package.
  8. Ideally, you need to purchase goods not focusing on specific customers, but having fallback options: for example, if you know that one possible client wants a cashmere coat in size 52, and you saw such a coat in the showroom, then first think carefully whether to take it or not if among your other regular customers there are no ladies with this size. If the client refuses, you need to understand whether you can sell this coat to someone else. As mentioned above, when buying in a showroom, this is easier - the goods can always be returned.

Where to hang

Despite the fact that the cost of equipment when trading at home is significantly lower than in a store, nevertheless, they are still there.

According to stockbiz, it's best to set up a home showroom with one or two clothes racks, two nice large full-length mirrors at an angle to each other, and a bright fixture with soft natural light. It is better to take lamps the same as those used in branded clothing stores.

It is better to make equipment mobile - so it can be moved when you are not trading.

All clothes should hang on the shoulders. Buy the right amount of hangers, preferably wooden ones - they do not bend under the weight of things and look “more solid” than plastic ones. Create a kind of “boutique” - do not show or offer crumpled clothes to people, get a steamer to bring things to a marketable appearance. All these tricks will allow you to sell clothes more expensive.

Don't forget to buy clothes covers. This will protect both your clothes and you from excess dust. The clothes themselves are best stored in a closed closet.

Carry your money

As in any trade, there are enough complexities. And a significant part of them when trading at home is associated with personal relationships with buyers - they become those with whom you were on friendly terms until recently. But if people enter the store of their own free will, then when working from home, at first you will have to actively invite people to your place, and not everyone will be ready for this. And those who come will expect some kind of special attitude towards them.

According to the story of one of the owners of a home-based business, all her friends try to buy a thing with the maximum discount or even on credit.

“As a result, they don’t give back for months. And my friends are generally afraid to come to me and buy - otherwise I’ll get rich. If you want to lose a friend, then give him a loan ...”

And there are many such situations. According to another entrepreneur -

"When selling at home, as I know, borrowing is a regularity. And with money, as they say, we will buy in a store...."

Here everyone must decide for himself how to behave in such situations. But if you decide to start selling clothes at home, you need to be prepared for this. Anna advises:

“Apparently, it’s realistic to sell to those people with whom it is possible to keep a distance. Or, alternatively, to say that you yourself took the goods for sale and sell at your own price, out of the kindness of your soul and out of friendship. This, however, is for those who knows how to lie honestly)))) "

Allergies don't belong here

People with household allergies should not trade clothes at home. At all.

Invisible dust always flies from any clothes. Most entrepreneurs who deal with clothes will confirm that after a long time working with clothes, unpleasant sensations often arise: itchy nose, frequent sneezing. Therefore, unfortunately, for those who are allergic, especially to dust, the path to this business is closed. Because health is more important.

In order to minimize the amount of dust at home, we recommend using covers for clothes and, if possible, storing them in a separate closet.

But the source of problems in the home trade is not only clothing. As Polina, one of the entrepreneurs, notes:

"You must be prepared that people will come sick and bring children with snot. And buyers who have already been and know your address can come without a call."

Rosa disagrees.

“No one has ever come to me without a call or warning. I don’t think you should be afraid of this. And snotty children don’t scare me)) patients can walk on the playground and in the sandbox. ... In extreme cases, dad can pick up the child watch while you're busy).

IP or not IP? Should I register with the tax office?

According to some, there is no point in registering: with a stretch, but trading at home can be called the sale of personal belongings by a private individual.

But this is all for the time being. And in order not to feel like a deceiver, it’s still worth registering as an entrepreneur: at least in order to replenish your pension savings as an individual entrepreneur. Again, we should not forget about the promises to reduce the tax burden for self-employed citizens.

Well, it's trite - so calmer.

High technologies in everyday life

The farther, the more and more often you can see successful examples of trading at home using the Internet. Even if you have minimal computer skills and a digital camera, you can take photos of clothes for sale and post them on photo hosting sites, in a group on social networks. The presence of a smartphone will also help you - the Yula and Instagram applications provide a lot of opportunities for doing business: photographed - posted - sold.

Those who are very familiar with the Internet can even create a separate site - if time and skills permit. It's more convenient for someone here.

Total

Selling clothes from home is a good way to try your hand at trading, gain entrepreneurial skills and, if done right, raise the initial capital to start something bigger. If you are not afraid of difficulties and you are ready to learn from your own experience - go for it!

"We also started with one mix" at home". We just called all our friends, and then friends of friends went. ;-) As a result, a month later we collected funds for the store. We did not use the Internet for these purposes, we probably had enough friends ... who are now our grateful customers in store.
