Volya's Internet connection in most cases is made through an Arris Touchstone CM820A/S cable modem. To establish a connection, you must complete the following steps:
- Connect the coaxial cable to the appropriate connector on the modem.
- Insert standard network cable into the Ethernet connector.
- Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into your computer or router.
- Specify the network settings on the end device.
How to connect Internet Volya via Ethernet
The procedure for connecting to a network via an Ethernet cable is the same as for most other ISPs. The company lays twisted pair cables into the subscriber's premises (house, apartment or office). The end of the cable is crimped, and an 8P8C connector is installed on it, which is suitable for connecting to any device with a network connector. The most commonly used devices are:
- Computer;
- Laptop;
- smart TV;
- Network Attached Storage (NAS).
The main disadvantages of this scheme are the lack local network and the simultaneous ability to access the Internet from several computers. These difficulties are eliminated if you use a router. In this case, the cable from Volya is inserted into the Internet port on the router. Other home devices connect via Wi-Fi (if the router is equipped with a radio module) or via LAN ports. As a rule, routers have four such inputs, their standard location is the rear panel.
Important tip! Connecting and disconnecting cables should be done with the router turned off. Apply power only when all wired equipment is already connected.

Setting the MAC Address
Volya's network is organized in relation to the MAC address of subscribers' end equipment. Therefore, when replacing it, you will need to enter a new address into the provider’s settings or change it yourself on the network device. If you use an Ethernet cable for the connection, you can change the MAC without leaving your home. All you need to do is log in personal account, open the item “My settings -> Equipment” and enter a new value.
You can also change the MAC on the router or computer itself to match the one that was originally used. For example, in devices from the manufacturer TP-Link, this action is performed using the “MAC Address Clone” link in the “Network” menu. Enter the address in the “WAN MAC address” field and click the “Save” button.
