Appearance: Saveliy Archipenko, creative director of Loft Project Etagi. "Big Kitchen": the best panorama of the Vosstaniya Arkhipenko brothers

They will tell you that the elevator will take you to the very door, and this will be true. No, Chaikhona No. 1, it turns out, did not occupy the entire floor. Yes, the new restaurant "made it" in terms of its appearance.

Vladimir Stebunov, chef:
“We turned out to have a “kitchen” style of serving dishes: different pans right on the tables, casseroles, roughly chopped vegetables. I see some brutality in this. Now we have about 60-80 positions (although there were 200 dishes in development), very soon there will be a separate children's menu and breakfasts. So far, our potential has not been fully revealed. Sanctions, of course, interfere, but we realized that it is quite possible to cope. Such limitations lead to interesting thoughts and solutions. If we draw a parallel with the Soviet Union, then in the 50s there was a flourishing of cinema, and music, culture in general - the same is here, we are waiting for an unusual development.

The sign is reminiscent of the cheerful name of the series, and the slogan refers somewhere to Astrid Lindgren's Carlson. The location in the shopping center right in front of the children's Happylon adds even more color and does not inspire confidence at first sight. But, getting inside, you quickly lose the presence of the mall behind the atmosphere of a qualitatively created giant. The first thing that catches your eye is a flower shop, a cart with melons, a large number of lights. On the left hand stretches the same large kitchen, with many cooks and cooks. Moving deeper, you find a scene framed in dark red cloth along the kitchen - a semblance of the main street. The idea of the architectural design was to reproduce the image of a noisy European square, with lanterns, many tables, a pizzeria and a wine bar. It cannot be said that the idea was clearly a success - until we were told this, such comparisons did not visit me.

But in general, being in this atmosphere for a couple of minutes, everything becomes clear: "Large kitchen" - because the kitchen is really huge, and if you look closely on purpose, the "square" remotely resembles place d'Armes in Luxembourg with crowded terraces and a stage in the middle, where a local mini-orchestra plays, then a funk band. The handwriting of the Archipenko brothers is recognizable. The decoration is pleasant, although it seems modest - either against the backdrop of the splendor of the neighboring "Chaihona", or because each of the details has already become familiar somewhere - and this white brick-like tile, and these gray chairs, almost like in Library on the second floor.

Mikhail Polezhaev, art director:
“On certain days of the restaurant’s operation, any person who can sing well will be able to realize his vocal and artistic abilities, whether he is a professional opera singer or a student of a law school. This is not karaoke, applicants will still pass the musical selection. And the permanent Big Kitchen band will support the friendly bash atmosphere. Such an idea comes from Amsterdam, where various professional and non-professional vocalists perform in a secret place, and the audience never knows who will appear in front of them - a housemate or Lenny Kravitz, who secretly stopped by after the concert.

Menu on wooden cutting board you can look at it for a long time - although it is not large, it is artistic. There are about 20 wine lines by the glass. Next to the borscht and ribeye there are, for example, empanadas, moussaka or cod "baksy". The positions of the dishes are mostly a-la-populaire different countries, but with a constant author's bias. Of the things that surprised me the most were dumplings with venison and juniper, which I had a chance to try here at the opening and remember for their brutal flavor.

Three facts about the restaurant

  1. The restaurant has its own observation deck, where observation binoculars will appear soon. Anyone can go up there for free, it is not even necessary to be a guest of the restaurant.
  2. The stage is open Thursday through Sunday evenings. The format is different: from open stage, to the Tauride orchestra.
  3. A separate space is dedicated to the children's club "Corolla", where master classes related to cooking and restaurant professions will be held.

This time we came on a Friday evening; the tables by the windows overlooking the small square in front of the Gallery and the rooftops over Ligovsky are all occupied. Mostly families and girls in dresses running around taking selfies on the terrace. We sit in the center of the hall, after ordering, the waitress advises to go up to the observation deck along the green spiral staircase. The view, admittedly, is excellent, but by the time we return, it turns out that the ordered vegetable casserole is no longer there, as well as the Millefeuille cake - they have eaten it.

They bring a mix of salad with cheese roll. A large clear bowl is half filled with assorted leaves, carrot slices and chopped red cabbage. The cheese roll turns out to be a deep-fried tortilla with homemade cheese and pesto. Very satisfying, but in the salad there is a clear bust with onions.

It didn't take long to get hot: Aragonese lamb is brought in a large cast-iron pan, with carrot slices and a roasted head of garlic. A dish straight out of The Lord of the Rings, not otherwise. Meat is not spared, in a portion there are three huge, moderately juicy pieces, cooked in a fashionable way in a josper. In the menu, the position is marked as spicy - garlic oil, which also serves as a sauce, adds piquancy.

At the end of the evening, Pecan cake with a scattering of blueberries, red currants and nuts appears on the table. Dessert is very sweet, quite heavy, from American cookbooks. After that, I want to buy a fitness membership. A thin sandy substrate may seem a bit dry on its own, but together with a juicy jelly filling, it is completely neutralized. The cake is not like ordinary Pecan biscuits, and the whole point of it is not the nuts laid out on top, but the taste concentration of this particular frozen pulp.

Meanwhile, some kids are jumping off the stage while their parents are finishing their pizza, and a story is heard from the back tables about some good buy shoes. By the way, the waiters also do not hesitate to leave the stage - apparently, the ladders on the sides did not find recognition.

The cheerful ideology of the project and its gigantic scope are reminiscent of a giant smiling at you. The desire of the Food Retail Group to make a restaurant with additions in the form of a stage, a children's club, an observation deck and everything else is very commendable, although it represents commercial populism. But the witty cuisine of Vladimir Stebunov adds meaning to this whole story and claims that everything is more serious here. Only now, at the exit from the restaurant, this winning feeling breaks off, and you again find yourself in the shopping center. Does this mean that snobs will not come here for a bottle of Chablis with trout tartar during sunset - I don’t know, but no one canceled the crowd in the twist door, as well as the completely unromantic flea market in the elevator with surgical light. There is no escape from the mall format. True, there, the Moskva restaurant does not particularly suffer from this, although, in theory, it should be offended - it looks lower and has already become rather boring. It's good that this restaurant was called "Big Kitchen", and not some "Peter" - otherwise the confrontation would become too obvious.

Why go

  • Have a hearty lunch after shopping at the Gallery. Plenty of space, moderate prices.
  • Take a selfie on the background of the roofs of St. Petersburg. The terrace and observation deck here is above the average level of the buildings around (including where the competitors are located).
  • Perform on stage. Or watch a friend perform.

Multifunctional art space on 5 floors" (pulled from the site).

"Etazhi" are located at the former "Smolninsk bakery", and this is a completely new project for our city.
Damn it, I've never been there (and I've already read books)), but people I know have been working there from the very beginning, and promote, make exhibitions, and so on.

In general, the very approach to the design of this room is very close to me, there is no home. This is what fascinates me about Europe, the ease of creation, touches that change the very essence, and the magic and beauty of old workshops / houses / etc.

From practically air to create beautiful and free. The value of which is still little understood. Something that is so lacking in our design. But for] the young and progressive, this has already gone ..

Loft-project Etazhi LLC rented the second, third and fifth floors from the owners of the bakery former enterprise(about 2 thousand m2 in total). minimal repairs, which can be called "conceptual", then the premises began to be subleased. Today, about 10 companies are already located on the floors, including the showroom of designer Leonid Alekseev, the office of a printing studio, and it is planned to place a catering point.

Gallery owner-architect
For the architectural and design, as well as the ideological component "Etazhey" is answered by a young architect, co-owner of the Arkhipenko Brothers Architectural Bureau Savely Arkhipenko. He also owns all the design ideas and the loft concept of the project. Savely Arkhipenko is not a co-founder of Loft-Project Etazhi LLC, but he rents most of the space on the fifth floor. His architectural bureau and the Globus Gallery are located here on a lease basis. Savely Arkhipenko invested about $15,000 in the opening of the gallery. he rents the gallery from the customer on preferential terms. From here

Well, the idea itself is to make not just a business center, and not just a gallery, but to combine it and knead it in such a delicious bowl of the old bun production.

Here are photos from that "Marie claire Maison", from a Turkish photographer, where my mother's apartment follows.

Well, the very combination of luxurious designer lamps, and ...

”, which will begin full-fledged work this summer. On the pedestrian street there will be compact office and outlets and recreation area for citizens. The authors of the project, brothers Saveliy and Egor Archipenko, tell how the new public space will look like and why teams with different experience are offered different rental rates.

The concept of the future pedestrian zone

Stores, offices and cafes will be located in specially equipped containers in the courtyard of the loft on Ligovsky Prospekt. As the organizers promise, the first resident - the gastronomic project "Piece of Meat" - will begin work on May 6–7. The list of future tenants is still being formed, but it is known that the authors of the initiative intend to allocate one container for the children's area with the figure of Cheburashka, where freshly squeezed juices will be prepared.

Savely Archipenko

There are several reasons why we all do this. Firstly, for the development of the territory of the “Etazhi” loft project, namely its large courtyard. Secondly, as it seemed to us, now there is a great demand for public places, but no longer parks: the time has come for places associated with individual entrepreneurship and business.

The initiators of the creation and investors of the creative platform from containers were the Etazhi loft project and Smolninsky Khlebozavod OJSC. We are personally responsible for design and architectural solutions.

We thought for a long time how to realize our plans. We decided that great idea there will be a modular architecture: it allows you to have small areas that are easy to complete and easy to operate. The advantage of our project is that we can implement it in stages: within one and a half to two years it will develop, and we hope it will exist for much longer.

To create our street, we use 40-foot containers, 54 in total. They will be placed on two floors: shops, cafes, bars will be located on the first floor, and offices on the second. The containers will be of several types: glazed on three sides and half.

From a technical point of view, heating, lighting, ventilation are provided. All containers will be finished on a turnkey basis. Each tenant will be able to work in comfortable conditions and bring in their decor elements at their own discretion.

Our project is for small creative business, we want to promote small local companies, start-ups and city manufacturers. You can rent a container in full, or you can rent only a third - 10 meters. We will also have three types of rent, which varies from 600 rubles to 2.5 thousand per square meter. In the first case, the price is preferential for start-up entrepreneurs and is valid for those who have opened their first enterprise. From 1 to 1.5 thousand - for those who already have experience. And from 1.5 to 2.5 is the price for sustainable projects in which we have full confidence.
