A smaller part of the market is open every day, but from Friday to Sunday, a real oriental bazaar appears here, the largest in the city. Lots of prepared food, lots of cheap clothes. Floating Market
The artificial floating market is located on Sukhumvit Street at the exit from Pattaya. There are many handicrafts that you will not find in ordinary city markets. Great variety of exotic food. There are few European tourists in this market, visitors are mostly Thais and Chinese. Entrance 200 baht.

big and cheap market with a wide variety of products. Lots of ready-made food, mostly on macaroons. There are not only traditional Thai dishes, but also European food. It is considered the cheapest market in the city.

Market in Jomtien (Jomtien Second Road)
It consists of two hangars, one sells food, the second - goods daily demand. Market prices in Jomtien are very affordable.

Night market in Teprazit
It is about him most often heard by tourists. Located market at the end of Teprazit street, almost before the turn to Sukhumvit. You can get there by songteo: the stop is located at the beginning of the street, not far from the turn to Thappraya.
The market is open from Friday to Sunday, and despite the fact that it is called "night", it works in full force from about 18:00 to 22:00. If, upon arrival, you see bald spots in the ranks, another large spontaneous fair is taking place somewhere in the city. Find malls very easy: they start almost across the street from the famous shopping center TukCom. The market is open on Tuesdays and Fridays, the best time to visit is from 10 am to 4 pm. shopping malls, will not find anything interesting here: at first glance, the malls are crammed with Chinese consumer goods. But for practical people, this fair is a treasure trove.
Cloth. A third of the fair is occupied by second-hand shops. This is where you can dress for mere pennies, and in things of European brands with original design. T-shirts from 20 baht, jeans from 80 baht and winter jackets from 200 baht - cheaper for nothing.
Shoes. Shoes are minimal: flip flops, bootleg New Balance sneakers, biker boots, and overpriced secondhand.
Accessories. Here you can pick up a backpack or a bag of any size for only 150-200 baht: there are several outlets with second-hand bags at the fair. If you have collected twice as many souvenirs as you can fit in a suitcase, you are here.
In addition, there is a large shop nearby with stingray and crocodile skins, as well as cheap handicrafts.

This fair is the most "Thai" in our review, since located away from the tourist trails. It is located, as the name suggests, next to the Mini Siam Park in Sukhumvit, one and a half kilometers from the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.
Cloth. Not here. Only if you were left without luggage, or escaped from the hospital in a hospital gown. There are a dozen shops with Chinese classics and a couple with European second-hand.

Of course, there are markets that are more tourist-oriented: This and. They differ from all others in that they have the usual European food (for example, only here there are mild steaks and french fries), in these markets the sellers speak English (in other places it will be a problem to find out what your dish consists of), only in such there will be massages in places (and this is logical, because fishermen and farmers are unlikely to go for a foot massage). Otherwise, everything is the same, the prices are the same, well, maybe a difference of 10-20 baht. Therefore, some cool and cheap markets for locals are a myth. I'll tell you more, all my favorite sellers with delicious food go to the night market for the weekend! And every night market we waited, because there were going to best sellers not only in our region, but in all others!
PySy: After a discussion with my wife, we came to another conclusion: in the tourist markets everything is sold ready-made, but in the local ones you can find separately greens, separately meat. In general, everything is like in our usual markets.

We lived in the private sector far from the center and bought at the local market. For the first few months, I walked around the market holding my nose. Thais have a very peculiar idea of cleanliness. They wash all their pallets and pour the waste right under their feet, it all rots, stinks, and among all this stands the seller: he rummages through some dirty bags, then wipes his hands on his greasy apron, spitting under himself ... BUT! the place where he prepares food for you is perfectly clean! He washes and cleans it after each client. Among all this stench and leftovers, there is only 30 centimeters of perfect cleanliness and that is where your food lies. If the seller has even the slightest doubt about the freshness of his products, then he will throw them under his feet, and they will stink there. But for him it will be the greatest shame if you poison his food. It really is. In Thailand, we ate in absolutely terrible places, but we never got poisoned. Moreover, if someone sells low-quality fruit and is caught for it, then this is a real scandal that gets into the newspapers. There with it strictly.
I heard that in tourist places, such as Walking Street, barbecues are made right on the ground in the yards, because there is a large flow of tourists and the locals have lost all their valuables. And although I did not see it myself, I must warn you. It is better not to buy anything on the beach.
Should you eat cockroaches?
The fact that Thais do not eat cockroaches and bugs is a myth, all my friends gobble them up with pleasure. But these are not ordinary cockroaches, which we are used to catching around the house. They taste like something just fried in oil, i.e. absolutely tasteless =) I advise you to choose those without paws for testing, because they are softer and nothing sticks anywhere. And try to chew these paws.
Coconut milk
Yes Yes! This is real baked coconut milk. It is somewhat reminiscent of sweet donuts, only it is also useful. I usually choose my own, or specifically ask for it to be cooked without snot. I recommend taking either without everything, or with corn. That's why the Thais don't add anything there. And there are sweet donuts with cucumber not very much at all.
Trade in the markets
Everyone advises to bargain and says that this is the Thai national game. Actually it is not. Thais are not very fond of bargaining. But they do drop the price. Most importantly, bargain only in the markets! And then many are trying to drop the price in hypermarkets or regular chain stores (like our five). This is complete nonsense! If the price is indicated, then just offer to take a few pieces, and then the seller will easily drop 20-30% off the price.
The Pattaya Park Night Market in Pratumnak is considered to be the same tourist market as the Jomtien Mill Market. Here you can buy fruits, clothes, souvenirs, as well as a full and inexpensive meal. But unlike Jomtien, we almost never visit the Pratumnak market, although we live next to it.

In all cities of Thailand, we visit local Thai markets of this type. Night markets usually always sell ready-made food, all sorts of kebabs, shrimp, soups. In general, you can eat delicious food. In the Pratamnak market, the situation is different:
- No holiday and fun
- If music is playing, then it must be Russian
- Much less choice of Thai food than other markets. For example, Slava has never found ordinary Thai skewers there for 10-20 baht. And even chicken in batter, which are sold by Muslim women, can never be found here. Only huge kebabs on skewers, like in Russia. By the way, our friends, who once came to visit us very hungry, liked the barbecue.

Having settled in the Pratumnak area, at first we walked, looked at the market, then went in once, a second, a third, a fourth, and each time we left empty-handed. Of those meat dishes that Slava eats, he could buy ribs. But they are always kind of leeward, or something.
It’s not even about disgust, but about the fact that it’s somehow not easy to buy winded meat, which most likely has been lying here since yesterday or the day before yesterday. Yes, and why do this when there are so many cool markets in Pattaya with mouth-watering and freshest dishes.
I suspect that in the Pratamnak market, this situation is probably only in the low season. Maybe the sellers don’t sell food on the first day, they post yesterday’s food. Or maybe all these cutlets and cabbage rolls are prepared according to a special recipe. Shrimps and seafood seem to be normal.
We sometimes buy fruits here. They are no different. Because they don't need to be cooked.
Some tourists here eat at tables. But in this market there are much fewer of them than in other markets in Pattaya. The night market in Jomtien, for example, is full of people even in the low season.

The market will be useful to you if you are staying at and you are not lovers of Thai cuisine. Come here for lunch or dinner, here you can eat a little cheaper than in Russian restaurants on the same street. Buy fruit, prices are the same as other places.
