What is live in the iPhone 7 camera. Live Photos mode on iPhone: how to take and edit live (animated) pictures? How to Delete Audio, Trim and Apply Effects to Live Photos on iPhone

We again return to the topic of the capabilities of the newly-made flagship iPhone 6s and once again want to prove: if we talk about buying, then the game is not worth the candle. At least if the quantities random access memory, processor power and camera resolution in the "old" iPhone suits you perfectly, with the help of a few tweaks you can give the "obsolete" gadget all the same functions as in the new models.

With we have already partially figured out (soon we will talk about the full use of the function inside applications). It's the turn of the vaunted. Hardware limitation you say? Not at all! Previous iPhone models can shoot in this mode just as well!

Installing the tweak EnableLivePhotos

Note: This instruction is only possible on iOS devices that have undergone a jailbreak procedure.

In order for the iPhone to learn how to take “live photos” from the third-party Cydia store, we need to download the EnableLivePhotos tweak.

You don't need to add repositories since the tweak is in the BigBoss repository, which is installed by default.

After the download and installation is complete, you will need to restart Springboard. We do.

We launch the Camera application and follow the changes in the interface. Before installing the tweak, the Camera app screen looks like this:

After installation, we got a Live Photo mode, just like on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

This function works in a similar way. you turn on Live Photos in any mode: front or main camera. Click on the "shutter button" and the image immediately goes into the gallery.

To make sure that the photo was actually taken in Live Photos mode, open the gallery, find the photo and touch it while holding your finger.

Note: Installing the EnableLivePhotos tweak allows you to get a full-featured animated snapshot mode, but it should also be borne in mind that viewing such photos is possible only on devices running running mobile operating system iOS. Posting a "live photo" to social media or sending without using the Message app will result in the recipient only seeing a static photo with no animation. Simply put, Live Photos currently works exclusively "on the iPhone and for the iPhone."

nice bonus

Photos taken in Live Photos mode can now be used and as "live wallpaper" when unlocking iPhone. Don't believe? Try it :)

Today we will talk about Life Photo and whether it can be done on such iPhone models as 5S, 6 and 6 Plus. Let's look into this issue once and for all.

When the iPhone 6S was introduced in 2015, one of the new features was a very interesting feature called Live Photo.

If anyone does not know when this function is active, then it is possible to record 1.5 seconds before and after the snapshot. The sound that was in this period of time is also recorded.

Thus, you get something like a small video that shows the moment the photo was taken. This helps to get more information about the moment and, as a bonus, if the shot turned out to be unsuccessful, to choose a better shot.

Are there Live Photos in iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5S?

In smartphones from Apple and other manufacturers in general, newer models always have features that make them stand out and make you feel the full taste of technology development.

The first reason can be called that this is done in order to make more money, but more often than not, older hardware of outdated models does not make it possible to do this.

In our case, this is at first a second thought, because when the iPhone 6S came out, 3D Touch technology was used for the first time and the camera was significantly improved. If you click on the photo, you can see the Live Photo in action and it looks very harmonious.

In theory, although a little curtailed, it could be implemented in such models as iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, and here the first reason pops up (there is an example of iPhone SE, where there is no 3D Touch and the feature works just fine).

If you could get new features on older models, then why buy something new. So it's better to cut back on old models and create a desire to upgrade your device.

Although the feature has been supported since iOS 9, and it works on many older devices, you can only use this feature starting with iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and iPhone SE.

How to take a Life Photo on iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus?

If you get confused, you can always get what you want. I think you all know very well that the iPhone can be hacked by Jailbreaking it. This theme is becoming more and more obsolete every year, but some still use it.

The bottom line is that if you download a tweak like EnableLivePhotos, then this function will appear on any model that you have. But to tell the truth, this feature is not worth it to endanger your data on your phone.

Already now, every owner of an iPhone running iOS 11 can take advantage of the extended functionality of a cool feature.

With the advent of iOS 11, Live Photos has finally moved from the category of useless advertising marketing into a really necessary function with which you can get high-quality bright and impressive pictures.

What is Live Photos?

For those who are not in the know, Live Photos adds a few seconds of video (with sound) to the photo before and after the moment of shooting. Such files weigh more, and until the release of iOS 11, you could only view such animated images and nothing more.

New Live Photos got new features. You can now select a title shot from the entire footage. Thus, there is no longer a need to take a series of photos, then choose the most successful one, and then delete unused photos.

Just take a live photo (make sure the photo is labeled LIVE in the upper left corner) and press the " Change».

At the bottom of the display, move the slider on the timeline by selecting the most successful frame (after you release your finger, the message “ Make photo the main one”, click on it) and confirm the intention by pressing the button “ Ready».

How to Apply Effects to Live Photo

The second cool innovation is the effects that can be applied to live photos. To start editing, open a live photo and swipe it up, after which the page will scroll to an additional menu.

On this moment There are four effects available:

  • live- standard live photography without effects (a kind of reset to the original settings after applying the following effects);
  • A loop- allows you to loop the animation. Unlike the standard solution, when you need to hold your finger with a 3D Touch gesture on the picture to view the video, with the effect A loop the image will be constantly in motion;
  • Pendulum- play the clip in reverse order. For example, people jumping out of the pool look much more spectacular than those who jump there;
  • long exposure- imitates long exposure like a DSLR. Moving objects will get a nice blur. Beautiful pictures With long exposure are obtained when shooting rivers or car lights at night. There is no need to buy reflex camera, install it on a tripod and take exposure for several tens of minutes.

How to crop Live Photos

Open the application " Photo' and select ' live photo” that you want to trim. Click the edit button. On the timeline that appears at the bottom of the screen, move the left and right arrows. This action will change the start and end points of your Live Photos. When finished, press the button "Ready".

How to turn off sound on Live Photos

Switch to edit mode for a photo marked LIVE by pressing the button Change in the upper right corner.

Click on the icon with the image of the loudspeaker (speaker) to turn off the sound in Live Photo and confirm the action by pressing the button Ready.

Live Photos is a feature that allows you to create live photos on your iPhone. For the first time this option was implemented in the sixth line of smartphones from Apple. Working with live photos is available to all users of IOS 9 and newer firmware versions.

iPhone 5 users need to have a working jailbreak and the “Enable_Live_Photos” tweak installed to work with Live Photos.

The function of creating live photos is available in the settings of the standard Camera application and in the menu of third-party programs from the AppStore. Let's take a closer look at how to take live photos on an iPhone, how to edit such media files and transfer them to other devices.

Differences between Live Photos and Videos

The principle of operation of live photos is similar to ordinary videos only at first glance. In fact, they are two completely different functions. Live Photo works like this:

  • The camera captures 1.5 seconds of video before capturing a photo;
  • Next, a photo is created;
  • After the characteristic sound of the camera, the application once again records 1.5 seconds of what is happening.

Further, all the received photos and "live" frames are combined, creating an animation effect. In the gallery, photos are stored in the usual way, to view the animation, you should click on any part of the photo in full-screen view.

When adding a live photo to Instagram or another social network add the file as a video. If it is attached to a post as regular photo, the animation will not be displayed.

At the program level, animation is provided by archiving files with JPG and MOV extensions. The document playback speed is 15 frames per second. The live image display time is 3 seconds.

Shooting live photos

To start taking a Live Photo on your iPhone, follow the steps below:

  • Open the main menu of the iPhone and click on the standard application "Camera";
  • At the top of the screen, click on the Live OFF button, which starts the animated wallpaper shooting mode. Wait for the inscription Live ON;
  • Now point the camera at the desired object that is in motion. Click on the capture button to automatic creation live photo.

Note! Live photos are created along with sound. It is not possible to turn off audio track recording, and it will play every time you play an animated file on a smartphone or other device.

Live Photo Editing

IOS 10 and IOS 9 do not have the ability to edit created Live Photos. You can only adjust brightness and contrast in the camera options list before shooting. Basic editing capabilities are available in iOS 11. Full version new OS will be released this fall, so users will have access to advanced settings for the Live Photos feature.

In IOS 11, the following options are available for editing Live Photos:

  • Cropping image and playback time;
  • Brightness and contrast adjustment;
  • White balance slider;
  • Slider for adjusting sound quality and volume.

Viewing Live Photos on different devices

Due to special settings, Live Photos can only be viewed on the following gadgets:

  • In the desktop version of OS X El Captain and newer versions;
  • On smartphones running IOS 9 and above.

When trying to transfer a media file to a device that does not support MOV animation, the user will only see a photo in JPG format.

From time to time, Apple makes features that many consider completely worthless, and some simply idolize them. How to send photos from iPhone to iPhone. How to take a screenshot on iPhone 6 from the display. As the saying goes: "How many people, so many opinions."

Specifically, this can be expressed about the Live Photo function, which allows you to get a small three-second video when taking a photo. How to add a photo to a contact on an iPhone. In the end, we have 1.5 seconds before and after the photo itself.
