Complete archive of a popular scientific and technical magazine "Model designer"- monthly periodical, in each issue of which detailed drawings, diagrams, instructions and descriptions of a wide variety of home-made structures are printed. The project was founded back in August 1962 in Moscow - at first it was published as the almanac “Young Model Designer”, then, starting in January 1966, under its current name. Well-known aircraft designers A. Tupolev, S. Ilyushin, and cosmonaut Yu. Gagarin gave good parting words to the new edition. This year the publication will celebrate its half-century anniversary! All these years, the magazine has covered and continues to cover issues of scientific and technical creativity, amateur design, and talks about the history of domestic and foreign technology. Among its authors, along with famous inventors and designers, champions technical types sports - a large army of versatile craftsmen, lovers of technology and its history. Many of his publications became a kind of start for the emergence and development of new mass areas of technical creativity and sports. Thanks to the informational and organizational support of the editorial office, karting, buggies, track modeling, amateur automobile construction, amateur design of gliders and ultralight aircraft, velomobiles and single-engine equipment, and small-scale mechanization tools for gardens and vegetable gardens appeared and became widespread in the country. The editors of the monthly see one of their main tasks as helping every reader, no matter what age, to become not only a connoisseur of technology, but also a jack of all trades, capable of personally making everything necessary for work and leisure.
