How to take another frame from a live photo. Editing Live Photos on iPhone: How to Apply Effects, Remove Audio, and Trim. How to choose the best frame from Live Photo

We again return to the topic of the capabilities of the newly-made flagship iPhone 6s and once again want to prove: if we talk about buying, then the game is not worth the candle. At least if the quantities random access memory, processor power and camera resolution in the "old" iPhone suits you perfectly, with the help of a few tweaks you can give the "obsolete" gadget all the same functions as in the new models.

With we have already partially figured out (soon we will talk about the full use of the function inside applications). It's the turn of the vaunted. Hardware limitation you say? Not at all! Previous iPhone models can shoot in this mode just as well!

Installing the tweak EnableLivePhotos

Note: This instruction is only possible on iOS devices that have undergone a jailbreak procedure.

In order for the iPhone to learn how to take “live photos” from the third-party Cydia store, we need to download the EnableLivePhotos tweak.

You don't need to add repositories since the tweak is in the BigBoss repository, which is installed by default.

After the download and installation is complete, you will need to restart Springboard. We do.

We launch the Camera application and follow the changes in the interface. Before installing the tweak, the Camera app screen looks like this:

After installation, we got a Live Photo mode, just like on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

This function works in a similar way. you turn on Live Photos in any mode: front or main camera. Click on the "shutter button" and the image immediately goes into the gallery.

To make sure that the photo was actually taken in Live Photos mode, open the gallery, find the photo and touch it while holding your finger.

Note: Installing the tweak EnableLivePhotos allows you to get a full-featured mode of animated shots, but it should also be borne in mind that viewing such photos is possible only on devices running running mobile operating system iOS. Publication of a "live image" in in social networks or sending without using the Message app will result in the recipient only seeing a static photo with no animation. Simply put, Live Photos currently works exclusively "on the iPhone and for the iPhone."

nice bonus

Photos taken in Live Photos mode can now be used and as "live wallpaper" when unlocking iPhone. Don't believe? Try it :)

Already now, every owner of an iPhone running iOS 11 can take advantage of the extended functionality of a cool feature.

With the advent of iOS 11, Live Photos has finally moved from the category of useless advertising marketing into a really necessary function with which you can get high-quality bright and impressive pictures.

What is Live Photos?

For those who are not in the know, Live Photos adds a few seconds of video (with sound) to the photo before and after the moment of shooting. Such files weigh more, and until the release of iOS 11, you could only view such animated images and nothing more.

New Live Photos got new features. You can now select a title shot from the entire footage. Thus, there is no longer a need to take a series of photos, then choose the most successful one, and then delete unused photos.

Just do live photo(make sure that the photo in the upper left corner is marked LIVE) and click the " Change».

At the bottom of the display, move the slider on the timeline by selecting the most successful frame (after you release your finger, the message “ Make photo the main one”, click on it) and confirm the intention by pressing the button “ Ready».

How to apply effects to Live Photo

The second cool innovation is the effects that can be applied to live photos. To start editing, open a live photo and swipe it up, after which the page will scroll to an additional menu.

On the this moment There are four effects available:

  • live- standard live photo without effects (a kind of reset to the original settings after applying the following effects);
  • The loop- allows you to loop the animation. Unlike the standard solution, when you need to hold your finger with a 3D Touch gesture on the picture to view the video, with the effect The loop the image will be constantly in motion;
  • Pendulum- play the clip in reverse order. For example, people jumping out of the pool look much more spectacular than those who jump there;
  • long exposure- imitates long exposure like a DSLR. Moving objects will get a nice blur. Beautiful pictures With long exposure are obtained when shooting rivers or car lights at night. There is no need to buy reflex camera, install it on a tripod and take exposure for several tens of minutes.

How to crop Live Photos

Open the application " A photo' and select ' live photo” that you want to trim. Click the edit button. On the timeline that appears at the bottom of the screen, move the left and right arrows. This action will change the start and end points of your Live Photos. When finished, press the button "Ready".

How to turn off sound on Live Photos

Switch to edit mode for a photo marked LIVE by pressing the button Change in the upper right corner.

Click on the icon with the image of the loudspeaker (speaker) to turn off the sound in Live Photo and confirm the action by pressing the button Ready.

Which devices support Live Photo shooting

Live Photos can only be taken on devices that support 3D Touch (screen pressure sensing technology), which are:

  • iPhone 6s;
  • iPhone 6s Plus;
  • iPhone 7;
  • iPhone 7 Plus;
  • iPhone 8;
  • iPhone 8 Plus;
  • iPhone X.

How Live Photo works

Live Photos work very simply - after the start of photography iPhone camera records 1.5 seconds of video before taking a picture, and then 1.5 seconds after it has been taken. As a result, valuable “context” is added to the photo, information about what was happening around, and the output is a kind of mini-video. Animation is shown by 3D Touch-clicking on a photo.

Apple has already said that Live Photo- not a video file, but a combination of a 12-megapixel photo in .JPG with a .MOV file. TechCrunch journalist Matthew Panzarino reports that the "live photo" includes 45 frames, and is played at 15 frames per second (that's exactly 3 seconds).

The combination of the two formats - .JPG and .MOV - also results in internal storage Live Photo takes up 2 times more space than a regular picture. Panzarino notes that he got successful Live Photos - pictures, but the function as a whole is still "raw":

“In my case, Live Photos turned out to be ideal when it was necessary to capture the “atmosphere”, but not the movement. Since the frame rate is quite low, moving the camera while shooting means getting problems in the picture. But if you shoot a still image with several moving elements, the effect is simply amazing.”

1 . Open the app Camera.

2 . Turn on the option Live Photos in the top menu. The icon should be yellow.

3 . Press the shutter button (white center) to take a picture Live Photos.

Joanna Stern of The Wall Street Journal, however, calls Live Photos"one of the best features of Apple smartphones." You can view several "live photos" of Joanna.

Live Photos(Live Photos) is a software feature in iOS (Camera app) that allows you to take animated photos on your iPhone.

Live Photos is one of key functions iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, implemented exclusively on these devices.

How to properly shoot Live Photo with iPhone 6s:

However, if you jailbroken your older iPhone running iOS 9 - iOS 9.0.2 using the Pangu jailbreak, you can now take Live Photos on it, and this tweak will help you EnableLivePhotos.

Once the tweak is installed, a new toggle for live photos will appear in the Camera app. When this switch is active, the photos will be recorded along with the few seconds before and after the moment the photo is taken, just like it is done in the original technology.

The Live Photos you've taken will animate as you scroll through the album containing them. To view a live photo, hold down on it and it will come to life.

EnableLivePhotos- the best analogue of the original Live Photos on smartphones of past generations. It can be used to take Live Photos on iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s.

Live Photos is an exciting new way to take photos on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In short, 1.5-second videos before and after the moment of shooting are pasted to the photo, and the result can be viewed as an animated live photo. Since a photo is merged with a .MOV video, it starts to weigh about twice as much as a normal still photo, which means it takes up twice as much storage space and when sent over the network. However, a live photo can be easily converted to a static one.

Live photo conversion on iPhone 6s

For whatever purpose, a live photo can always be converted to a standard photo and vice versa. In most cases, this function will be needed when the image is too large when sending it to friends or family members.

Step 1:

Open the Photos app.

Step 2:

Tap on the live photo you want to convert to normal. Distinguishing Live Photos from regular ones can be tricky, but Live Photos have one specialty. They animate slightly as you scroll through the album, making them easy to tell apart. True, this is not a super efficient way to search, we hope that Apple will improve it in the future.

Step 3:

Click Change to open the photo editing window. At the top you will see an icon with concentric rings. It is highlighted in blue in live photos. Click on the icon, and it will go out, and the photo will turn into a normal one.

Click Done and the photo will be saved. This smaller photo can be sent over the network.

Even if you really like live photo technology, sometimes it becomes necessary to send a photo in a static form, which can be easily done.
