Limitations of the educational version from the full one

1C configuration (also known as an application solution, also known as a standard solution) is a set of templates for reference books, documents, and reports for maintaining any type of accounting. The 1C database (aka database) is the directories and documents themselves that users enter into 1C. For example, a database with documents for 2009, or a database for the entire time for the company “Your Firm” LLC. You create the database yourself based on the 1C configuration.
Versions of 1C platform

Released in 2005. An analogy is Windows XP.

The latest version at the moment is 8.1/8.2. If you currently have 1C 8.0, then you definitely need to upgrade to 8.1 or 8.2.

Versions 1C - Enterprise 8.2, also “eight”
Released at the end of 2009. An analogy is Windows Vista.
1C 8.2 is another update for version 8, only a very global one. Compatible with 1C 8.1, updating is relatively simple.
I highlighted it separately because:
a) the number of differences from 8.1 is very significant
b) platform 8.2 was released quite recently, and typical configurations for this version are just being released (some are only planned for release).
For this reason, as of January 2010, a minimum number of companies are running version 8.2 (mostly those whose system administrators were terribly curious).
Versions 1C - Enterprise 8.2 “eight two” (aka “managed mode” or “thin client”)
Also released at the end of 2009. An analogy is Windows7.
A fundamentally new version of 1C, one of the basic differences is the ability to work via the Internet, including using a regular Internet browser (for example, Internet Explorer or another).
Limited compatibility with 1C 8.1, the transition is only possible with the help of a 1C programmer. In fact, this version is in the “coming soon” stage; standard configurations for it are only planned for release.
The latest version, many innovations, speed faster than 8.1, work via the Internet, updated interface (like windows7) and so on, so on.
The new version of 1C 8.2 today is a place for learning (if you are already familiar with 1C). I assume that mass distribution of this version will take place starting in the spring/summer of 2010.
