Appearance: Saveliy Archipenko, creative director of Loft Project Floors. “Big Kitchen”: the best panorama of the Uprising Savely Archipenko biography

", which will begin full-fledged work this summer. Compact office and outlets and a recreation area for citizens. The authors of the project, brothers Savely and Egor Arkhipenko, tell us what the new public space will look like and why teams with different experience are offered different rental rates.

Concept of the future pedestrian zone

Specially equipped containers in the courtyard of the loft on Ligovsky Prospekt will house shops, offices and cafes. As the organizers promise, the first resident - the gastronomic project "Piece of Meat" - will begin work on May 6-7. The list of future tenants is still being formed, but it is known that the authors of the initiative intend to allocate one container for a children's area with a figure of Cheburashka, where freshly squeezed juices will be prepared.

Savely Arkhipenko

There are several reasons why we do all this. Firstly, for the development of the territory of the loft project “Etazhi”, namely its large courtyard. Secondly, it seemed to us that there is now a great demand for public places, but no longer parks: the time has come for places associated with individual entrepreneurship and business.

The initiators and investors of the creative platform made from containers were the loft project “Etazhi” and OJSC “Smolninsky Bakery”. We are personally responsible for design and architectural solutions.

We thought for a very long time about how to implement our plan. We decided that great idea There will be a modular architecture: it allows you to have small areas that are easy to expand and easy to operate. The advantage of our project is that we can implement it in stages: it will develop over the course of one and a half to two years, and we hope it will exist much longer.

To create our street, we use 40-foot containers, 54 in total. They will be placed on two floors: on the first there will be shops, cafes, bars, and on the second there will be offices. The containers will be of several types: glazed on three sides and half glazed.

From a technical point of view, heating, lighting, and ventilation are provided. All containers will be finished turnkey. Each tenant will be able to work in comfortable conditions and add their own decorative elements at their own discretion.

Our project is for small people creative business, we want to promote small local companies, start-ups and manufacturers in the city. You can rent the entire container, or you can rent only a third - 10 meters. We will also have three types of rent, which range from 600 rubles to 2.5 thousand per square meter. In the first case, the price is preferential for beginning entrepreneurs and is valid for those who have opened their first enterprise. From 1 to 1.5 thousand - for those who already have experience. And from 1.5 to 2.5 is the price for sustainable projects in which we are completely confident.

“The Village St. Petersburg” continues the “Appearance” section. Every week we ask city residents we know to take a photo on the street and tell us where they buy things and why.

Every week, the editors ask one of their St. Petersburg residents to take a photo on the street and tell them what brands they are wearing, where they bought them, and where they usually prefer to buy clothes. In the new issue - Savely Archipenko, architect and creative director cultural center "Loft Project Floors", which The Village photographed next to its office on Ligovsky Prospekt.

He is ironic about his appearance, makes random purchases, loves flea markets, Japanese and Belgian designers and intellectual fashion.

About things

Helmut Lang sneakers

The sneakers attracted me from the very beginning: they look like they were torn down two centuries ago. I brought them from Vienna. The thing is unique, since Lang retired. That is, the brand still exists perfectly, but Helmut Lang himself is no longer its head. In general, he is a brilliant artist, urban designer and master of combining precise cutting and unfinished processing. His things are very high quality and ironic at the same time. I don’t think you can buy this brand in St. Petersburg now.

About St. Petersburg stores

I periodically go to Day & Night and Day & Night Lite, Comme Des Garcons and Maison Martin Margela. But I usually buy the last two brands abroad, since there is more choice there and the markup is not so wild. St. Petersburg lacks art spaces camouflaged as shops - intelligent concept stores, intermediate between mass market stores and expensive boutiques, with brands like Acne, Henrik Vibskov, Wood Wood, where you can come for inspiration. There are still not enough showrooms with young and innovative Russian designers.

Multifunctional art space on 5 floors" (removed from the site).

“Floors” are located on the former “Smolninsky Bread Factory”, and this is a completely new project for our city.
Damn it, I’ve never been there (and I’ve already read the books)), but people I know have been working there from the very beginning, and they’re promoting it, putting on exhibitions, and so on.

In general, the very approach to the design of this room is very close to me; there is no home. This is what fascinates me about Europe, the ease of creation, touches that change the very essence, and the magic and beauty of old workshops/houses/etc.

To create something beautiful and free out of practically thin air. The value of which is still little understood. THAT is what our design lacks. But for the young and progressive it has already gone...

LLC "Loft-project "Etazhi" rented the second, third and fifth floors from the owners of the bakery former enterprise(total about 2 thousand m2). On the rented areas it was produced minimal repairs, which can be called “conceptual”, then the premises began to be subleased. Today, about 10 companies are already located on the floors, among them the showroom of designer Leonid Alekseev, the office of a printing studio, and it is planned to place a catering point.

Gallery owner-architect
For the architectural and design, as well as the ideological component “Floors” is answered by the young architect, co-owner of the Architectural Bureau “Arkhipenko Brothers” Savely Archipenko. He also owns all the design ideas and the loft concept of the project. Saveliy Archipenko is not a co-founder of Loft-Project Etazhi LLC, but he rents most of the space on the fifth floor. His architectural bureau and the Globus gallery are located here on a lease basis. Savely Archipenko invested about $15 thousand in opening the gallery. he rents the gallery from the customer on preferential terms. From here

Well, the idea itself is to make not just a business center, and not just a gallery, but combine it and mix it in such a delicious pot of old bun production.

Here are the photographs just from that “Marie claire Maison”, from the Turkish photographer, where my mother’s apartment is next.

Well, the very combination of luxurious designer lamps, and...

They will tell you that the elevator will take you right to the door, and this will be the absolute truth. No, “Chaikhona No. 1”, it turns out, did not occupy the entire floor. Yes, the new restaurant has “made it” in terms of appearance.

Vladimir Stebunov, chef:
“Our style of serving dishes was “kitchen”: different frying pans right on the tables, casserole, roughly chopped vegetables. I see some brutality in this. Now we have about 60-80 items (although there were 200 dishes in development), very soon there will be a separate children's menu and breakfasts. Our potential has not yet been fully realized. Sanctions are certainly a hindrance, but we realized that it is quite possible to cope. Such restrictions lead to interesting thoughts and solutions. If we draw a parallel with the Soviet Union, then in the 50s there was a heyday of cinema, music, and culture in general - the same thing is here, we will have an unusual development.”

The sign resembles the cheerful title of the series, and the slogan refers somewhere to Astrid Lindgren’s “Carlson.” The location in the shopping center directly opposite the children's Happylon adds even more color and does not inspire confidence at first glance. But once inside, you quickly lose the presence of the mall behind the atmosphere of a well-created giant. The first thing that catches your eye is a flower shop, a cart with melons, and a large number of lights. On the left hand stretches that same large kitchen, with many cooks and cooks. Moving deeper, you find a stage framed in dark red cloth along the kitchen - a semblance of the main street. The idea of the architectural design was to reproduce the image of a bustling European square, with lanterns, many tables, a pizzeria and a wine bar. This is not to say that the idea was a clear success - until we were told this, such comparisons did not occur to me.

But in general, after being in this atmosphere for a couple of minutes, everything becomes clear: “Big kitchen” - because the kitchen is really huge, and if you look closely, the “square” vaguely resembles Place d'Armes in Luxembourg with crowded terraces and a stage in the middle, where either a local mini-orchestra or a funk band plays. The handwriting of the Archipenko brothers is recognizable. The decor is pleasant, although it seems modest - either against the backdrop of the splendor of the neighboring Chaikhona, or because each of the details has already become familiar somewhere - and this white “brick” tile, and these gray armchairs, almost like in Biblioteka on the second floor.

Mikhail Polezhaev, art director:
“On certain days when the restaurant is open, anyone who can sing well will be able to realize their vocal and artistic abilities - be it a professional opera singer or a law student. This is not karaoke; applicants will still undergo a musical selection. And the permanent band of “Big Kitchen” will maintain the atmosphere of a friendly bash. This idea comes from Amsterdam, where various professional and non-professional vocalists perform in a secret location, and the audience never knows who will appear in front of them - a housemate or Lenny Kravitz, who secretly stopped by after the concert."

Menu on wooden cutting board you can look at it for a long time - although it is not big, it is artistic. There are about 20 wine lines by the glass. Next to borscht and ribeye there are, for example, empanadas, moussaka or cod “Buck style”. The positions of the dishes are mostly a-la-populaire different countries, but with a constant authorial bias. What surprised me the most were the dumplings with venison and juniper, which I had a chance to try here at the opening and remember for their brutal aroma.

Three facts about the restaurant

  1. The restaurant has its own observation deck, on which observation binoculars will soon appear. Anyone can go there for free, you don’t even have to be a restaurant guest.
  2. There is a stage in the evenings from Thursday to Sunday. The format is different: from open stage to the Tauride orchestra.
  3. A separate space is dedicated to the children's club "Venchik", where master classes related to cooking and restaurant professions will be held.

This time we came on a Friday evening; the tables by the windows overlooking the small square in front of the “Gallery” and the rooftops above Ligovsky are all occupied. Mostly families and girls in dresses running around to take selfies on the terrace. We sit down in the center of the hall, and after ordering, the waitress advises us to go up to the observation deck along the green spiral staircase. The view, I must admit, is excellent, but upon our return it turns out that the ordered vegetable casserole is no longer there, just like the Mille-feuille cake - it was eaten.

They bring a salad mix with a cheese roll. A large transparent bowl is half filled with assorted leaves, carrot slices and chopped red cabbage. The cheese roll is a deep-fried tortilla with homemade cheese and pesto sauce. Very satisfying, but the salad clearly had too much onion.

We didn’t have to wait long for hot food: the Aragonese-style lamb was brought in a large cast-iron frying pan, with carrot slices and a baked head of garlic. A dish straight out of The Lord of the Rings, no less. They don’t skimp on the meat; there are three huge, moderately juicy pieces per serving, cooked in a fashionable way in a josper. In the menu, the item is marked as spicy - the piquancy is added by garlic oil, which also serves as a sauce.

At the end of the evening, a Pecan cake with a scattering of blueberries, red currants and nuts appears on the table. The dessert is very sweet, very heavy, from American cookbooks. Afterwards I want to buy a fitness membership. The thin sand base alone may seem a bit dry, but together with the juicy jelly filling it is completely neutralized. The cake is not like ordinary pecan biscuits, and the whole point of it is not the nuts laid out on top, but the concentration of flavor in this frozen pulp.

Meanwhile, someone's children are jumping off the stage while their parents are finishing their pizza, and from the back tables they hear a story about some good luck with your purchase shoes. By the way, the waiters also do not hesitate to leave the stage - apparently, the stairs on the sides did not find recognition.

The cheerful ideology of the project and its gigantic scope resemble a giant smiling at you. The desire of Food Retail Group to create a restaurant with additions in the form of a stage, a children's club, an observation deck and everything else is very commendable, although it represents commercial populism. But Vladimir Stebunov’s witty cuisine adds meaning to this whole story and asserts that everything is more serious here. Only when you leave the restaurant, this winning feeling ends, and you find yourself back in the shopping center. Does this mean that snobs won’t come here for a bottle of Chablis with trout tartare at sunset? I don’t know, but the crowd in the swing door has not been canceled, as well as the completely unromantic crowd in the elevator with surgical lighting. There is no escape from the shopping center format. True, the Moscow restaurant doesn’t suffer much from this, although in theory it should be offended - it looks shorter and is already quite boring. It’s good that this restaurant was called “Big Kitchen” and not some “Peter” - otherwise the confrontation would have become too obvious.

Why go

  • Have a hearty lunch after shopping at the Gallery. There are many places, prices are moderate.
  • Take a selfie against the backdrop of the rooftops of St. Petersburg. The terrace and observation deck here are higher than the average level of the buildings around (including where competitors are located).
  • Perform on stage. Or watch friends perform.
