We take magazines (newspapers), cut along each magazine, we get small sheets, from which we will twist the tubes later.

We take the resulting sheet and knitting needle and wind the leaf onto the knitting needle, grease the corner with glue and pull out the knitting needle from the resulting tube.

Let's start weaving. We take 8 tubes, put them perpendicular to each other. We fold another tube in half and start weaving.

Weave several rows.

Now we disconnect the tubes. We do this in two steps. First, we disconnect two tubes, then one at a time.

We continue weaving.

We begin to bend the main tubes, along which we will then weave the wall of the basket.

We continue to weave our basket.

We close the last row of the product.

Let's start making the handle of the basket. To do this, we take 5 tubes and attach them to the workpiece, separate one tube, begin to wrap the rest around it, give it a semi-oval shape.

Newspaper weaving. Newspaper weaving is a new craft based on the traditions and technologies of wicker weaving. Weaving from a vine (willow rod) is one of the most ancient occupations of man. The art of basket weaving retains its traditions in our time. The conditions of urban life limit our ability to master traditional weaving from natural material (vines). New technology blanks of material allows you to repeat wickerwork from a rod, and in its own way appearance they are almost indistinguishable from the original products.

To do this, you need to cut the newspaper into strips of 5x30 cm. Strips of this size will make thin tubes for an elegant product. If you need thicker tubes, then the width of the strips needs to be increased. 2. You need to start winding the strip very tightly by winding the edge of the newspaper on the knitting needle. The thickness of the tube also depends on the diameter of the needle. Having twisted the tube halfway, the knitting needle can be removed 3. Fix the edge of the newspaper with glue 4. When the “lozinka” is over, take another one and, after smearing its tip with glue, insert it into the previous one. 4. One end of the tube is narrower than the other. This is convenient when we connect the tubes together, as this is the main action when weaving from newspapers. 5. We choose one of the types of weaving and proceed to the weaving of the product. 6. I process with PVA glue on both sides. After drying, newspaper work becomes stiff. 7. And the last stage. We cover the resulting product with acrylic varnish also on both sides.

If you need a product of a larger diameter, then you need to take 4 tubes, then the angle will be 45 degrees. We continue to weave, laying the tubes in a spiral.
