  1. Single color cotton T-shirt. It is better not to use any other material, as over time the T-shirt will stretch and deform the pattern. For work, a new and unworn item is suitable. However, beginners can try their hand at some unnecessary piece of clothing.
  2. Brushes with natural bristles. Any other options are unacceptable, as after them there may be stains on the material.
  3. Special acrylic paints for fabric painting. They can be found in any specialized store selling goods for artists.
  4. Black marker.
  5. Simple pencil.
  6. Stationery clips.
  7. Clothespins.
  8. Palette for mixing paints. For these purposes, an ordinary plastic plate or a piece of unnecessary cardboard is suitable.
  9. Board for stretching the material. You can use high density cardboard instead.

Methods for painting on fabric

There are five main ways to paint T-shirts and plain T-shirts., they allow you to transform a T-shirt and make it stand out from hundreds of others.

Such an exclusive piece of clothing will become your constant companion and help you become more visible.

Variants of painting various items of clothing:

  1. Abstraction. Based on your preferences, the T-shirt is folded into a knot, roll or tourniquet. After that, it is impregnated with batik paint (you can find it in stores selling goods for needlework). After drying, the T-shirt is straightened and smoothed. If you did everything right, then abstract symmetrical patterns will be visible on its surface. The finished product is tied with a ribbon, which makes the drawing more complete.
  2. Outlines or markers. With their help, not clothes, you can apply an image with clear outlines. There are markers for dark and light fabrics. Acrylic contours- These are tubes with special paint, which is designed for drawing on fabric. Their only disadvantage, compared to markers, is the need for uniform application. Before starting work, the T-shirt is stretched onto a smooth surface. Then the image you like is selected and transferred to the fabric using simple pencil. The edges are outlined and the drawing is painted.
  3. Stencil. This option is perfect for fans of pop art. First of all, a sketch of the future image is drawn on cardboard. After that, it is laid on a stretched T-shirt and completely painted over with paint. Then, the cardboard sketch is removed, and the image remains.
  4. Costume imitation. IN Lately the design of clothing items in the likeness of the costumes of cartoon or movie characters is gaining popularity. A white tie, pockets and buttons on a black or dark blue T-shirt will look very original.
  5. Image on the entire surface. Great option clothing decoration will be a pattern that runs through the entire surface of the T-shirt. For example, the beginning of the image will be at the front and the ending at the back. T-shirts with the image of animals are often decorated in this style.

Drawing on T-shirts with acrylic paints provides for the manifestation of your creative abilities. In order to reveal them fully, necessary consider the advice of experienced craftsmen and not repeat their mistakes. The following tips should be highlighted:

  1. Before starting work, be sure to wash and dry the item of clothing that you are going to paint. After that, it is ironed and stretched onto a frame for batik.
  2. If you want to get a drawing without any clear outlines and with smooth color transitions, then you can use the free image drawing technique. It consists in the arbitrary application of several shades. After that, they are allowed to spread over the T-shirt.
  3. To obtain an image with clear shapes and boundaries, you should apply the technique of cold or hot batik. In the first case, the details of the drawing are outlined with a special composition that prevents the paint from spreading outside the drawing. In the second case, the light parts of the image are impregnated with wax, which prevents them from coloring. The drawing is applied with strict adherence to the sketch, starting with light details and ending with dark ones.
  4. To give reality to the drawing, it is necessary to supplement it with a volumetric contour.
  5. You can use fabric markers to write pre-designed words.
  6. You can cut out an inscription template or symbol from thick paper and paint over it with acrylic paint.
  7. You can decorate a T-shirt with various stamps, which can be any vegetables and fruits with a beautiful structure and shape. To do this, the fruit is cut into two parts, one of which is dipped in paint. The finished stamp is applied to the desired place on the T-shirt.

Coloring clothes

Each of us is a person with his own individual character traits, ambitions and needs. Therefore, many strive to stand out from the crowd and become different from everyone else. It will help to wear original designed clothes made by yourself.

It will be impossible to buy such a thing in a store, so you will immediately become noticeable among the general crowd.

Easy option

This option for decorating wardrobe items is great for beginners. It is simple, does not require special skills and abilities, so even a child can handle it. In order to turn old thing for an exclusive piece of clothing you need: a plain T-shirt, a sheet of cardboard, a brush, acrylic paint, fabric spray, a felt-tip pen, a stencil of the selected pattern.

A painted T-shirt is made as follows:

  1. The plain t-shirt washes well. This also applies to a new item, since a special impregnation may have been used in its manufacture, which may prevent uniform application of paint.
  2. After drying, it is gently ironed.
  3. A sheet of cardboard is taken and inserted between layers of clothing. It is important not just to put it on, but to pull it. This is done so that when painting the front of the shirt, the paint does not leak onto the back. For greater convenience, cardboard can be wrapped in foil.
  4. After that, the work surface is prepared. To do this, she is covered with an old cloth or newspaper. In order for the T-shirt not to slip, it can be glued to the table with adhesive tape.
  5. Now the drawing process begins. If you have artistic abilities, then you can apply the image yourself using sprays, acrylic paints and felt-tip pens. If you have never drawn serious drawings, then it is better not to experiment and use prepared stencils.
  6. The finished product is left to dry for a day.
  7. After this specified period of time, the cardboard lining is removed from the workpiece.
  8. If you need to apply the pattern to the back of the clothes, then you need to repeat all the same steps again.

Acrylic paints

If you are a creative person and have a lot of decor ideas, then you can take a simple T-shirt and paint it with acrylics. This is a difficult and long process that will require patience and accuracy from you, but you can rightly be proud of the end result.

Acrylic is great for this. It is well absorbed into the fabric and retains all its properties for a long period of time.

If you search a little, you can find paint that will glow in the dark or have a matte effect. When buying this material, you must consider the suitability of the type of fabric you have chosen.

Master class on T-shirts painted with acrylic:

The finished product can be washed within two days after the end of work. Washing should be done in warm water with the addition of soft detergents. For a T-shirt painted with acrylic, the same modes apply as for a fabric that requires careful handling.

Batik painting

This painting option is not available to everyone, as it involves the use of expensive and rare materials. They can not always be found even in a specialized store, so they are replaced by more affordable counterparts.

For painting batik, you must perform the following steps:

  1. A special frame is taken on which the source material is stretched.
  2. The surface of the T-shirt is wetted with a large brush.
  3. Until the material is dry, a drawing is applied. There are no preliminary sketches in this technique, so only those people who have artistic abilities should take it.
  4. After that, the entire surface of the T-shirt is sprinkled with urea or salt.
  5. After the final drying of the material, the salt or urea is removed, and the T-shirt is removed from the frame.
  6. To fix the pattern, the T-shirt is steamed for two hours.
  7. Then it is removed and washed in hot water with the addition of detergent.
  8. At the end, the fabric is ironed when wet.

T-shirt painting is a fun and rewarding activity., with which you can bring old and out-of-fashion items of clothing back to life. With proper observance of all the tips and recommendations, you can make an exclusive thing that will appeal not only to you, but also to your friends.

For work we need:

Materials: fabric, here it is a children's white T-shirt without graphics,
Drawing - a sketch on A-4 paper, chosen according to taste and desire.
For example like this

Tools: marker (self-extinguishing),
acrylic paints for painting on fabric,
brushes (hard) No. 2 and No. 4.

Lesson progress:

I got up early today.
She sat quietly at the table.
I got paints with a brush
And - a picture of the beginning.
I took the job boldly!
Painted for five hours!
Even served ass
And sweated down to her panties.

1 step: Lay out the white T-shirt on a flat surface.

2 step: We take a sheet of A-4 paper with the selected pattern and insert it inside the T-shirt, so that the pattern is clearly visible through the fabric.

3 step: Calmly and slowly draw a marker around the outline of the visible sketch. (Don't be afraid to "call" over the edges of the drawing - the marker line will disappear after contact with water.)

4 step: Getting started with acrylic paints. Coloring. With brush No. 4, we apply paint to the drawing on the fabric and try to grind the paint with a thin layer.

5 step: The paint from the brush can be washed off in a jar of water. And color the drawing in different colors as desired.

A rainbow hung merrily in the sky.
A rainbow in the sky is like a rocker.
Look, people, what a beauty!
A rainbow plays over the earth.

6 step: When the work has dried up (it takes quite a bit of time), you need to take black paint and brush number 2 to walk along the contour of the picture. Thus, the work will look brighter.

I plunged into work
I drew, puffed for half a day,
And the talent returned to me,
My talent found me.

7 step: The paint on the T-shirt will dry quickly.
At the end, the work can be ironed from the wrong side.

And so your individual and unique T-shirt is ready! You can wear it with pleasure yourself, you can gladly give it to someone.

In this technique of painting on fabric, you can also paint your other clothes.

Be bold and inspired!

I wish you all creative success!

Painting on fabric.
We create unique things with our own hands!

Part 1.
Concept development.

This tutorial is based on a very specific piece of work I've been doing lately. My very good friend has a birthday soon. He is an artist, a graphic artist, quite an adult. A long time ago, I had the idea to paint a T-shirt for him (fortunately, the size is known).

It remains to decide on the concept.
Because man is our field's berry, I decided to emphasize this in my work. I'm probably the wrong artist) This time I didn't even make a sketch. But she made it clear to herself that:

The composition will be positioned from bottom left to top right.
the whole picture will be splashed paint of all colors with beautiful droplets, in which other objects are mixed.
paint will fly out of ... banana)))
the name of the person will be present at work (or rather, the name under which he draws)

That's actually all. Because I have a problem with letters, I asked my young man to help me in drawing up a sketch with the name of the birthday man.

When the sketch is ready:

I scan it and proceed to prepare the workspace.

Part 2.
Workspace preparation.

There is nothing complicated and long in this.
first what we need is of course - t-shirt(or any other textile - jeans, shirt, longsleeve).
Criteria by which I choose textiles:
a) ratio price quality- the thing should be moderately cheap, while good quality. Preferably cotton fabric, with a minimum content of stretch fibers. So your finished work of art will not crack when strongly stretched (for example, when dressing).
b) clothes should not have a pattern - embroidery, printed patterns, etc. I believe that all this can interfere with the drawing and the process of its application.

this item optional although it is recommended. We need to find some kind of surface or hoop where we can pull our thing. Someone uses a shelf from an old closet for this, I used an ironing board and pins for this. Now I'm too lazy to pull it on) and I draw just like that, laying out the thing on the table)
So, the next point for the lazy ones like me:

Need a simple blank sheet of paper A4 size or more. For what? Even if you pull a T-shirt anywhere - on a shelf or on an ironing board - it is better to put a sheet of paper under the place where you draw. So, if the paint leaks, the paper will stick to the T-shirt, not the shelf or ironing board. If the paper is stuck and does not want to tear off, it can be carefully torn off around the stuck area. It will come off easily on the first wash.

The most important point - paints.
There are many colors, domestic and imported. Imported, of course, many are good. But they also cost quite a lot of money. So my choice fell on domestic paints. There are paints for textiles, acrylic, firms GAMMA. But I frankly didn’t like them, they are more like paints that need a contour. Strongly flow through the fibers.
I also found in the paint shop of the St. Petersburg plant "Nevskaya Palitra". These are paints with the name DECOLA. I haven't tried anything better than them. They are moderately thick, do not flow through the fibers.
Sold in sets of 6.9 and 12 colors, as well as individual jars of 50 ml of all sorts of different colors, including fluores and metallics.

brushes. Important. I love working with acrylic columnar. Even more than synthetics. I have a lot of brushes, but I usually draw with the thinnest ones - 1,2 and 4. In general, I don’t need more.

Palette. My palette looks very scary) This is a simple square tile that my dad gave me back in 99) About 8 years ago I stopped washing it) And now it is covered with a thick layer of semi-rubber dried acrylic) You can also use just a white sheet, but this not the best option.

Very important element - diluent for acrylic on fabric. It costs a penny, it is also sold in a container of 50 ml.

and lastly, a ballpoint pen for sketching.

Part 3
Drawing a sketch on the canvas.

As I wrote above, I don’t pull the T-shirt anywhere, I just lay it out on the table, put a white blank A4 sheet inside and get to work.

The whole concept is kept in my head, but part of the sketch is drawn. These are letters. The word is SHON. In order not to spoil the sketch itself, I scan it, clean it in Photoshop and print it again. The drawing should be quite large and I print on the entire A4 sheet. Next, I arrange it as it should be on a T-shirt and I pin with pins so that it does not fidget and the drawing does not slip.

How to transfer an image to clothes, which I use, will seem wild to someone)) But it is universal for both black and colored and white things.
I take a ballpoint pen of any color that writes, and I start to push through and break through the paper where there are lines in the sketch.

Do not be afraid, you will not spoil the fabric if the thing is dense enough and not stretchy. Also, this method is universal for clothes of any color because the pen does not just draw on the fabric, it leaves pressed grooves and even on black clothes they are clearly visible. After painting and washing, they will naturally disappear. The next photo clearly shows the trace of the handle and a small groove. And it’s also hard to get confused about what is already circled, what is not)

Thus, I outline the entire drawing, except for the smallest details, which will not be difficult to finish later. Gets something like this.

Some lines are hard to see. Some of them are only grooves. In order not to completely get confused when painting, I trace doubtful places with a pen. With the same pen, I mark out the main movement of the composition, the main elements, such as a can of paint, a banana, dynamically flying paint and other little things, without going into details.

Part 4
Painting.

When the rough sketch is ready and the letters are circled in the right places, I start painting.
I don't have a strict paint system. I start with those places that seem to me the simplest and I like the most)

It is better to apply the paint in more than one layer. Let the first coat dry, then apply another. Then, if desired, you can apply a third. So the paint will be juicy, it will not seem that it has been absorbed into the fabric. In addition, it will seem that the areas covered with paint are like rubber.

Next, I decided that I would paint the letters. They were supposed to be gold, since I turned out to have such a paint) I paint with brush No. 2. I don't need any more. Neat lines are initially important to me, because. I do not know yet how I will have the background.

See how the yellow liquid paint has soaked into the fabric and how faded the color has become? Conclusion: if the paint is light - do not be lazy, first walk in this place with white.
So, I'm trying to fix the situation:

The banana is covered with the main color) I begin to detail it. My teacher at the art school told me - if a person does work at different levels, then he has a problem with his head. Ideally, you need to make a normal sketch, then paint over everything with primary colors, then detail everything in the same way, and then direct the last marafet) I have everything through .. one place

Banana looks like this:

The overall picture is still not so good, and I'm going to fix it. I apply paint; roughly paint over the spray can, using silver and white)

Continuation:

I continue to apply colored paint blobs after looking at some references with colored blobs before doing so. Then, obeying some internal currents, without finishing painting over with the main color, I began to outline the banana)

I take brush number 2, dip it in black paint. I must say that I usually paint with thinner, mixing it with the color right on the palette. The black paint in my kit is fresh and thin enough that I can do without it.

I dip the very tip of the brush so that a small drop of paint appears on it, and I begin to “rub” it along the contour of my banana, moving the brush back and forth with a slight pressure.

video!

The beginning is drawn out, I rearranged the camera there. But in general, it seems clear what is happening on the screen)) I'm there cartoons in the background

The photo clearly shows the texture of the fabric, the overlay of paint, etc. The overall picture so far looks like this:

All right, now you can circle the letters. I don't like how it turns out yet, because the picture is still far from complete and there is a lot of work to be done. I trace letters and paints around in the manner described above, "rubbing". At the same time, the original sketch is open on the monitor so as not to get confused in the lines.

When the letters are outlined, I refine the background, getting the right colors by mixing with the addition of thinner.

Hooray! We're coming to an end! It remains to circle the brushes, pencils, jar and a little bit of paint and add missing highlights and ... voila! Job ready:

It remains to dry, fix from the inside with an iron, choose a gift package and give)

I hope the lesson was useful and interesting. Creative success!

P.S: avoidance huge amount the same questions or for those who fundamentally do not read the comments:

AFTER CARE

Each box with paint or on it has instructions on how to care for a thing after heat treatment - how to wash and so on. Because paints from different companies are simply unmeasured on the thin market, I will give here only for DECOLA paints:

Wash ONLY manual. (at worst, in modern machines there is a function of gentle washing of wool and silk. But there is a possibility that the paint will wash off / crack / start to move away from the fabric in lumps. It is better to test a painted piece of fabric before washing a work of art there)
Wash water temperature no more than 40 degrees. Otherwise, your branded thing will be punished by the Punishment of the Wrong Temperature Regime.

It seems to be that's all. Things can withstand many washes, if you follow all the conditions and do everything carefully. I have a T-shirt that is 3.5 years old. The paint is not cracked, although the fabric is quite stretchy. Withstood many washes.

T-shirts with original inscriptions have always been popular, but it is not always possible to find what you want on sale, and not all localities have companies that make inscriptions or drawings on T-shirts. Of course, you can order such a service on the Internet, but we are not looking for easy ways and we will do the T-shirt painting with our own hands.

Put an inscription or drawing on a T-shirt at home can be done in several ways:

  1. With a home printer. Special transfer paper for printing on inkjet and laser printers. The image is simply printed on such paper and transferred to clothes with the help of an iron. In this way, you can apply not only inscriptions on a T-shirt, but also full-color photographs. Of the minuses - the image will quickly peel off after 10-15 washes.
  2. Painting with acrylic paints or fabric markers. About this way of painting a T-shirt and there will be our small master class.

Fabric paints are available at many craft stores and are inexpensive. They come in 2 types: just for fabric and for batik (silk).

I have never used batik paints, but I bought a few jars for comparison. They differ in that the paints on the fabric are thick and lie on top of the fabric like all acrylic paints, and for batik they are liquid like water, are absorbed into the fabric and are not felt on it when touched, but are almost invisible on dense fabrics. And they spread a lot and for their use you need to use special contours (sold in the same place as paints). As far as I understand, batik paints are used only for painting silk (it is written on the bank).

For the design on the T-shirt, I used acrylic paints on fabric.

First you need to come up with an inscription and its design. Since the experiment was carried out on a children's T-shirt and especially for this article, the inscription was chosen to be universal: "I love everyone."

You can draw right away without a stencil, but I'm not very good at drawing by hand, I had to do it.

How to make a stencil? To do this, print out an image of the desired size using a printer on thick paper (preferably photo paper) and cut it out.

It is better to cut a stencil with a clerical or mounting knife, or a scalpel. Pay attention to how the letters are cut out: the holes must not be cut completely, so that the inner parts of the letters do not fall off.

Before painting, the T-shirt needs to be ironed, I was too lazy to do this, and it was not very convenient to draw. NECESSARILY under the top layer of the T-shirt place paper or film so that the paint does not smear the other side. For applying the paint, I used a regular artificial brush.

After the stencil drawing is painted over, remove the stencil and paint over the remaining places on the letters that were not cut out. You also need to correct the drawing, if somewhere it turned out crooked.

When finished with the painting, leave the T-shirt to dry for 24 hours (according to the instructions, I waited a little less). When the paint is completely dry, iron the design through a thin cloth for 5 minutes to fix the paint. After ironing, the T-shirt can be safely washed at a temperature of 30-40 degrees and you are not afraid that the paint will come off. The drawing lasts long enough.

Original prints in clothes are still in fashion. You don't have to leave a lot of money in the store to keep up with trends. It is enough to have a desire and think creatively. With the help of fabric paints, you can create the desired print. Also, with the help of a brush and paints, you can transform not only clothes, but also hide a defect on the fabric. A creative drawing in the form of cats on a children's T-shirt will help create individuality, as well as hide barely, but still noticeable, "handwriting" from the pen. In order to draw colored cats we need:
Acrylic paints on fabric.
Brushes (No. 1 and No. 2).
Cardboard.
Scissors.
A jar of water.

1. Fold a sheet of cardboard in half and draw half of the "heart".

2. Cut out the heart.

3. We apply it to a T-shirt and carefully circle it with a black gel pen.

4. We start drawing cats already on the T-shirt itself. To begin with, you can practice on a simple sheet and only then transfer the pattern to the fabric.

5. Place a sheet of paper inside the T-shirt so that the pen and paint do not stain the other side of the T-shirt.

6. After all the cats are drawn, you need to color the drawing. Since the T-shirt is for children, we suggest you paint the cats in different colors. It is better to fill with color from left to right (for right-handed people) or from top to bottom, so as not to accidentally smear the drawing with your hand.

7. When the paint on the fabric dries, you need to draw eyes in white.

8. Circle the heart with a black outline. It is best to do this with a special contour (it will be smoother), but if it is not there, then a thin brush will do.

9. When the black outline is dry, you can outline the heart with a colored outline, such as orange. Choose the color of your choice.

10. After all the contours have dried, we begin to outline the seals in black and draw their faces.

11. After 5-6 hours, the pattern must be ironed through gauze or a thin cloth.

12. A day after being stroked, the T-shirt needs to be washed. It is worth noting that things with handmade prints are washed only by hand and at a temperature of no more than 30 degrees! Wring out the T-shirt after washing it is necessary very carefully. Strongly crumpled clothes can not be. When the T-shirt is dry, it must be ironed through the fabric again.

Having spent a minimum of time, you will delight your child with a wonderful t-shirt with an original pattern!
